WHY WE CHOOSE
THE ALL SOLID ROSEWOOD

The SIRE team has spent years perfecting acoustic guitar building and tuning to find the best sound. The conclusive result is that the solid rosewood construction delivers the most ideal acoustic guitar sound. We feel that the rosewood tone is easily the standard in all acoustic guitar sound.

Our result shows that solid rosewood construction delivers depth and superior tone than solid mahogany guitar. Some players might prefer the mahogany body but when tested vigorous and compared next to each other, the Rosewood just delivered a better, all around acoustic sound.

Such result motivated us to build and offer all solid rosewood body guitar at the price of mahogany guitar. We came to realize why Martin D28 is the most widely loved acoustic and why it has become the industry standard acoustic guitar.

WE INCLUDED PREAMP SYSTEM WITH ALL ACOUSTIC
GUITARS AS A STANDARD

All solid rosewood acoustic guitar has superb natural sound. But without proper internal amplification system, the sound cannot be transferred to PA system on stage without compromising the quality of the sound. Professional engineer has to amplify it using high quality microphones to deliver the natural tone of the guitar.

Doing that would be a difficult job, if not impossible. Especially when playing with a band. Playing in a small room might not require a preamp but when playing in live settings, having a system that can control the sound and deliver clear tone is absolutely crucial. Performing with a guitar in a band without preamp system would be nearly impossible without help and additional equipment.

And our search continued. We wanted to develop a preamp pickup system that would capture the beautiful natural sound of the acoustic guitar without drilling a large hole in the wood that would be damaging to the guitar and tone. We wanted to build a standalone outboard preamp system that can be mounted or detached for more flexibility and operation. Zebra7 Original.

Another approach was to build acoustic guitar with the absolute minimal pickup and preamp system that would work perfectly in live setting. Zebra7 SIB .

The first acoustic to feature easily mountable and detachable dual pickup system with outboard preamp.

Zebra 7 Original Features

–  High sound quality.
–  No hole drilled on the guitar. Pickup/preamp system that does not damage the guitar body.
–  Easily mountable and detachable pickup system. The pickup can be detached for acoustic setting and mounted again in 30 seconds for live stage playing, making it ideal high end acoustic electric guitar.
–  Complete dual pickup system that can blend sound hole pickup and piezo pickup for optimal sound and preference.

WHY REMOVABLE PICKUP SYSTEM?

The zebra 7 pickup system was developed once we decided that SIRE all solid rosewood acoustic guitar would be the main and representative SIRE acoustic guitar. Most well-tuned high end acoustic guitars do not come with onboard preamp installed.

The reason is simple. No true acoustic guitar player would want to cut a large hole in the wood to have a preamp installed on the side of the guitar. That would not only be damaging to the guitar but compromise the sound quality as well. Retaining the guitar in its purist form is what most player’s desire for this reason, to keep it natural.

But without onboard preamp there is no way to amplify
the beautiful natural acoustic guitar sound unless a skilled engineer is there to mic the guitar on stage to amplify the sound properly. This would be unrealistic for most players.

To find a better solution, we developed a removable preamp system that can be used as an onboard preamp that does not require drilling a hole in the guitar. The preamp can be mounted and removed for ease of use. For one year and a half, we worked to develop a removable EQ preamp pickup system that can be used on needed basis.

For stage performance, the preamp can be attached for use and then can be removed when not being used at home. We finally have succeeded in development of the SIRE Zebra 7 preamp system that can do all that.

WHY TWO PICKUP SYSTEM

Most people think about the under saddle piezo pickup when purchasing acoustic electric guitar. But single piezo pickup alone cannot capture all the tone and amplify the natural acoustic sound truly. This is why many professional players prefer the sound hole pickup.

Although the sound hole pickup has some advantages over the piezo, it cannot produce the acoustic sound that piezo can replicate.

Knob 1 : pickup blend knob

Turned counterclockwise all the way would bring her internal mic level to 0 and the piezo pickup at constant maximum of level 10. When turned clockwise the mic level gain goes up, the piezo will be same at constant level 10. When turned all the way clockwise the mic level will be 10 and piezo pickup at constant level 10. Piezo pickup and mic pickup level will be as follows as the knob is turned clockwise. 10:0 10:1 10:2….. 10:8 10:9 10:10

Knob 2 : Volume knob

The volume level controls the output of the mic and piezo pickup source together.

Knob 3 : EQ Searcher

The only pickup functions that you can get from Zebra 7. When the knob us turned clockwise treble and mid level rises and bass level reduces. When the knob is turned counterclockwise the bass level rises and the treble level reduces. When you hear the tone change by operating the preamp the player will see the value and dynamic tone control that is possible with this feature. Volume level controls the output of the mic and piezo pickup source together.
