TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF AND HOW YOU BECAME A BASS PLAYER?
My name is Giane Rangel, I was born in 1992. I'm a Brazilian bassist, multi-instrumentalist, artist and music producer. I entered musical studies as a child, initially with the drums, and discovered other instruments throughout my life. In 2014, electric bass came into my life. Today, he is my main instrument.
WHO IS YOUR MAIN INFLUENCE IN PLAYING BASS? IN TONE, STYLE, ETC.
Some of the great influences I have are Nathan East and Marcus Miller. And within the style and segment of what I have proposed to do, which is the gospel, I have Josh Ham as my great inspiration.
WHEN AND WHERE DID YOU LEARN ABOUT SIRE? WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION WITH THE BASSES?
Well, my first experience with Sire was in 2019, playing and recording with a Sire Marcus Miller V3 2nd Generation. I had an excellent first impression regarding the timbre, comfort and possibilities that the instrument could offer me, both in recordings and gigs.
TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR FIRST GIG USING YOUR SIRE BASS.
It was absolutely incredible. I play in the church and because the active bass have the wonderful preamp Sire, I enjoyed an excellent tone.
HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE THE FIRST FEMALE SIRE FRIEND IN BRAZIL?
Wow! I'm extremely happy and honored. Since my first experience with Sire, I have felt very welcomed by the brand and feel that today I am part of this incredible family. It's a great honor to be the first woman in my country to represent Sire.
ANY WORDS FOR THE BASS PLAYERS OUT THERE PLANNING TO GET A SIRE IN THE FUTURE?
Sire has already made a big difference in the music market. The instruments, in their entirety, are absolutely incredible! Unique tones and great comfort that allows the execution of all the necessary techniques.
DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR SIRE GUITARS?
I would indicate a P-Bass, but I know that this is already in Sire's planning for this year. I'm excited about that! So, what is currently offered by Sire already makes me completely satisfied.
WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE TO ASPIRING MUSICIANS?
Have a plan. Believe in yourself and your ability to achieve what you want. Study your instrument daily, whenever possible. Invest in techniques that need to be improved and always review what you already know. It's not easy, but insist! Make your music touch other people's lives.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO PLAY? WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FROM IT?
I'm inspired by listening to various types of music, whether I'm used to playing or not. Music in general inspires me a lot.
WHAT DOES MUSIC MEAN TO YOU?
Music is an essential part of my life. I breathe music. I live music. I can't remember some moment in my life when I no longer loved music. Music means everything I become every day, and it's very rewarding to be able to live on music today.
